Product Description
Droplines were successfully used by the Native Americans (same concept) for thousands of years prior to the Basques (of what is now Spain) fishing in the North Atlantic for the famous Codfish for hundreds of years. This developed into the fishing industry of what is now New England (commercial droplines were much larger than this novelty). Codfish were salted for preservation and transporting (salted Cod can still be purchased today). Fishing Schooners would deploy dories; or, single dories were manned alone. The North Atlantic was full of Codfish. Fishing them was easy with a dropline whereupon they could actually 'jig' the Codfish right out of the ocean, because the fish were so plentiful. Just add your choice of hook, weight or bobber, fresh or artificial bait. Happy Fishing!
Hand made in the USA. Choose between the large (70 feet of line): $18.95 or the small (45 feet of line): $11.95. Hook, weight or bobber are not included.
